Ten tips for online affairs.

More and more people are cheating online and as a result, there is a serious need for people to cover their tracks on their computers so not to arouse suspicion. The best way to avoid getting caught having an online affair is to NOT use your home computer for anything related to your affair. Don’t check private emails, personal ad sites or anything even remotely related to your affairs.

Instead, use Internet cafe computers or your computer at work. Since many companies control what you do on work pc’s, the best bet for most people looking to have an affair is for them to find an Internet cafe within walking distance from their work. That way, you can sneak off during lunch to check emails, personal ad sites etc, without fear of getting caught. If you do get caught going into the cafe by your partner, you could always make up an excuse like, “Just checking the bank because we aren’t allowed anymore at work” or some sort of similar excuse.

If for whatever reason you must use your home pc for your affairs, then you will want to follow these simple rules for not getting caught.

1. Delete your browsing history. If you want a hassle-free and VERY effective way to hide what you do online, use WinClear. Otherwise the following will help cover your tracks but not nearly as well as WinClear.

• If you use Internet Explorer, click on TOOLS, then INTERNET OPTIONS, then click on CLEAR HISTORY. You should also set the “days to keep pages in history” to 1.
• If you use Firefox, click on TOOLS, then CLEAR PRIVATE DATA, then select the following- Browsing history, saved form information, download history and cache and then click on the CLEAR PRIVATE DATA now.

2. While surfing, open up a “dummy” news or sports page than you would normally go to, then minimize it while you are checking your emails or personal ad sites. If you partner gets remotely close to being able to see the monitor, maximize the “dummy” page and start reading.

3. Use ALT + F4 to close any window you are in, IMMEDIATELY. This is a panic button of sorts. It will close any active window you are in. You can also use WINDOWS KEY + L to IMMEDIATELY place the pc back at the windows login screen, as if you weren’t even on it.

4. Enable your screen-saver, select the time to 1 minutes and put a password on it, or make it go back to login screen. That way if you have to step away from your pc and forget to log-off, no one will be able to see what you are doing after 1 minute.

5. Try to organize your workstation so that you have time to react before someone can read your screen. This will arouse suspicion, but you can blame it on glare from windows, not being able to see tv, wanting to be able to look at people in other parts of the area without having your back to them all the time.

6. Try to use the pc when no one is home. DO NOT get up to use the pc in the middle of the night and DO NOT stay up after everyone has gone to bed, only to sneak downstairs to use the computer. This activity is very, very suspicious.

7. Keep an eye on your computer for recently installed programs. They are programs that can be installed on your pc that will allow your partner to keep an eye on your online activity. Yet another reason to NOT use your home computer for cheating.

8. Stay out of chat rooms and do not use MSN Messenger, Yahoo, or ICQ to have your affairs, unless you are using those programs away from home. More people get caught having an online affair by using online messaging and checking personal ad sites, so if you want to avoid getting caught cheating, don’t check them from home! Do not download email software, or use your family email program such as Outlook or Outlook Express. Web-based email such as Hotmail or Gmail only.

9. Set up different identities on the computer. Password protect all.

10. If you must keep files, photos or anything, create a New Folder, put all your documents in to it, then put it in a place on your hard drive where no one else would look. Try to place it in as “deep” as you can within sub-folders, or hide it in plain sight. Better yet, buy a USB storage device, load all your affair information on it, then hide it somewhere where NO ONE would find it.

Even though you can have an affair online without getting caught, using your home computer for your affairs is very, very risky. If your partner is the lease bit suspicious it would be very easy for them to find out if you were cheating, unless you follow the 10 tips above.
